The Federal Government is not planning to continue Gonski funding after the end of 2017. The Australian Education Union attributed many of the gains seen in schools - many of which cater for disadvantaged students - to increased funding distributed under the Gonski reforms. The CEO of ACARA, Robert Randall, urged parents to closely examine how their school was performing over time on the area of the website that tracks gains in performance, and compares that progress to other similar schools.Īs well as reporting NAPLAN data, the My School website also provides school profile and population data, and school financial information, including capital expenditure and sources of funding. The release of the data follows an earlier update on NAPLAN scores from the Australian Curriculum and Reporting Authority (ACARA) nationally, which showed that schools' improvements had plateaued in key learning areas. The tests are conducted in years three, five, seven and nine. The data also allows parents to track how their child's school has performed over time. The website allows parents to compare how their child's school performed in NAPLAN tests compared with other schools that educate children of similar socio-economic status. Schools and parents can see how an individual student's learning is tracking compared to their classmates and the national averageĭata from the latest National Assessment Plan - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests have been uploaded today onto the Federal Government's My School website. The results help identify strengths and address areas that need to be improved. The annual testing is designed to help governments and schools gauge whether students are meeting key educational outcomes. Students cannot pass or fail the assessment.
